Birkie Week - Feb 22-25
    "Pick a Cowl" Class

Wednesday, Feb 22nd - 11-2 - Lorrie Franson will be leading a class in Cowl making.  There are 6 patterns to choose from.  The Patterns are:

     Stockholm
     Buttoned Muffler
     Gap-Tastic
     Collared Cowl
     Infinite Beauty Cowl
     Emphasis

e-mail Joan at pineneedles@cheqnet.net and ask for the info re the cowls/needle size/yarn suggestions.

Cost of class is $15.  A continuation class will be held on Thurs. Feb. 23rd
from 12-3 for an additional $5

August 1st 10-2- Classin Loom Beading
August 15th 10-2 - Class in Peyote beading - an amulet bag
August 29th 10-2 - Free Form Peyote bracelet
September 12th 10-2 - Bracelet (will be determined later)
Cost of classes are $20 plus the materials

WOMAN OF THE MONTH
Following is a preview of what to expect this year at Pine Needles with our Women of the Month speakers.

The title we are putting on this series is
"It's Never Too Late To Be What You Might Have Been"

May 17th - 2-3 Fran Turcin - 88 years old - formerly in the military and a convent - worked amongst the lepors and
will bring her collection of her 'cone dolls', and the story that goes with them

June 7th - Deanna Perrson owner of Art Beat, and former owner of Wilderness Walk will share with us her diverse life experiences from interior design-school teacher to artist.

July 5th - Hildie & Mildie - the Knit Wits will charm and entertain us their version of knitting & crocheting

August 9th - Barb Kippel a "Many years" Birkie skier, teacher and knitter and well known in the area as an outstanding woman.

September 6th - LJ Menzel- Owner of Firefly Co. (and my daughter) will talk about how she came to be a store owner, and her 5 wk experience in Africa helping to establish a library for the community.

October - 4th - Laura Berlage an extremely gifted fiber artist, musician and story teller will come in her medival
dress and music
