Your Northern Yarn Store




Spring & Summer are just around the corner and after the long winter we are truly looking forward to it.

During the last two weeks of April we will be tearing out the big glass windows on the south side of the building and framing in a smaller window that opens for ventilation and which will give us more wall space.  In those two weeks we'll do some painting and get ready for YOU to come and visit us.

There isn't another store in a 100 mile radius that can compare to Pine Needles.  It has taken us almost 5 years to put this wonderful space together and the comments by tourists and those who live here brighten our days and help us to know that our labor hasn't been in vain.  

 We are open year round....shorter hours in the winter but we are here. So far we have been busier than ever.  We did some renovations in the spring and it accomplished what we wanted.  It opened up the store and the addition of shelves enabled us to display more yarn.

The store is organized according to fiber - i.e.  cottons, blends, all wool, alpaca, baby yarn, sock yarn, and silks.  The customer finds it easy to find what they want.  We have a lot of shelf space for books and patterns and the shelves are full. 

As you walk in the front door there are two wing back chairs with a lamp and magazines to keep the husband engaged while you shop.

I'm so rewarded to be in this brightly lit store with all of the color, textures, and soft music playing in the background.   It's a place of peace and respite!   

We are excited to have two new shops open up in Cable this summer.  Ideal Market will be the home of a deli, pizza parlor, and other exciting things.  There will be another gift shop opening that will be geared towards the 'northern decor'.    Cable's Museum of Natural History new building is well underway and that will be a landmark in Cable. 

Beginning March 1st until May 1st our hours will be as follows:  Open Thurs, Friday, & Saturday 11-4.  Closed Sun, Mon, Tues, & Wed. except by appointment for instruction and knitting supplies.  I live around the corner so to speak and so if you call 715-798-5204 I will be happy to meet you at the store.  The high cost of electricity right now and fuel is affecting this change.
