 | | Regardless of the time of the year, northwest Wisconsin is a beautiful place to live in and to visit. It was back in 1979 when my husband and I fell in love with the Hayward area. There was an excitement you felt as you walked main street, moving over to make room for a group coming towards you who were picking a cookie out of their bag they'd just bought from the bakery. The band stand, parked on main street, filled the air with wonderful strains of recognizable music. The air seemed to vibrate with good will.
Cable where Pine Needles is located has emerged also as a great place to meet and shop or eat. There is Fire Fly Trading Company, Redberry Books, Mulberry Street, Whispering Pines, The Candle Cottage, Big Brook Greenhouse, Big Brook Canoes, The Brickhouse (a great place to eat) Elenas Outdoor Furniture, 'R' Place Cafe, Cable Cafe, & Subway etc. We will have opening in the Spring of 2008 a new business which is going to be a deli, pizza parlour & gallery, and another which will be selling Country decor. Not sure right now of the new names but I'll update as it becomes known. Rondeaus is a fully filled grocery store & hardware store. We have a laundermat, lumber yard, bank, etc. Auto repair and car washes, Cable is one of the fastest growing areas in northwest Wisconsin. Telemark Resort and Convention Center, Lakewoods Resort and Garmish are just a few of the truly exceptional places to stay, golf, swim, ski, etc.
So come visit us where you could shop till you drop and discover the talents of local artists.
Pine Needles is located in the heart of the ski country. The locals and visitors enjoy cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and hiking. The snowmobile paths are always well groomed. In the summer there are biking trails, bike races, art shows, farmer's market, etc.
In February the American l Birkebeiner Cross Country Ski Race begins in Cable, Wisconsin and the finish line is in Hayward, Wisconsin. It's a huge event, bringing people from all over the world.
I love it because it is so colorful, and I love color. That's why Pine Needles is such a special place to go because it is full of color. We are surrounded by yarns from many corners of the world....Australia, Italy, Spain, England, Canada, Greece, Spain, Australia, just to name a few, and of course the USA.
If you want your spirits lifted - go to a yarn store. It will take your breath away. Feel the many textures, soak in the variety of colors from the subtle to the bold. Dream of the potential things you can create that you never thought of before. Join a group of women who share your passion. Learn a new stitch, try new needles, find an interesting pattern, and feel your spirits soar and your mind at peace.
I hope you make Pine Needles a place to stop when you are in our area. We'd love to meet you.
